Sky Dart takes a simple bow-and-arrow idea and puts it into an open setting where the arrow can travel a surprisingly long way. The goal is to shoot toward a target, then keep the arrow on the right path while it is flying. Picking the launch angle matters, but the shot is not finished once the arrow leaves the bow.
Before each shot, you need to decide how much power and what angle to use. After the release, the arrow can be guided through the air, which comes in handy when something gets in the way. You may have to move around objects instead of heading straight for the target.
The landing itself affects the score. Hitting ordinary ground or objects gives you basic points. Red targets are worth more because they add a multiplier, and a bullseye on one can give up to x4. Gold targets are the ones to look out for if you want a much bigger payout. A gold bullseye can reach a x10 multiplier.
Distance is another big part of Sky Dart. The reward increases according to how far the arrow has traveled, so a short shot is not always the best choice. Sometimes it makes sense to keep the arrow in the air and look for a target farther away.
That can be tricky when obstacles are scattered along the route. A small change in direction can save a good shot, while a bad one can send the arrow into an object before it reaches the target.
Coins earned during play can be spent on upgrades. You can improve things such as arrow speed and power, while new arrow types become available as you progress. These improvements give you more freedom when trying longer shots.
Sky Dart is easy to pick up because the main idea is so clear. Pick a direction, fire, guide the arrow, and see where it ends up. The fun comes from trying to beat the distance and score from the previous shot.
