About Martin: No Filter Fighters

What happens when the arguments, insults, and unforgettable personalities of a 90s sitcom become a fighting game? Martin: No Filter Fighters answers that question with a cast of familiar faces and a whole lot of attitude. This unofficial, free fan game takes inspiration from the classic TV show Martin and turns its Detroit setting into a collection of colorful 2D fighting arenas.

The roster goes well beyond the main characters. Martin, Gina, Pam, Cole, and Tommy share the spotlight with Sheneneh, Jerome, Bruh-Man, Dragonfly Jones, Hustle Man, Mama Payne, Ms. Geri, and other recognizable faces. There are even bonus fighters to discover, giving fans plenty of unexpected matchups.

Pick a Fighter, Then Bring Backup

Each battle uses a tag-team setup. Players select one main fighter and a separate sidekick who can jump into the action with assist attacks. All four characters on the two opposing teams must be different, so choosing a lineup takes a little thought. A useful approach is to pair a fighter who handles close combat with an assist that can interrupt opponents or create openings.

Sitcom Humor Meets Arcade Combat

The fighting feels inspired by classic games such as Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom. Expect airborne combos, launchers, parries, special attacks, and powerful team supers. The comedy comes through in the moves themselves: Gina can swing her handbag and heels, sandwiches become projectiles, Sheneneh brings out her hair dryer, and Bruh-Man arrives with his own unpredictable antics.

More Than a Standard Fighting Ladder

Arcade Mode offers a sequence of opponents leading toward an ending, while Story Mode builds fights around situations from the show. Versus Mode supports local matches and online room-code battles with friends. Training Mode gives players room to practice combos before stepping into tougher fights.

There are also Charity Bout challenges and unusual bonus stages, including the Bank of Detroit ATM mini-game. Turbo speed options and custom controller settings add extra ways to shape a match.

Martin: No Filter Fighters is packed with references for longtime sitcom fans, but its tag-team battles give those familiar characters a fresh reason to step into the ring.
